One Night in Cannes With A Rabbit’s Foot

Mads Mikkelsen
A Rabbit's Foot honoured Mads Mikkelsen and Audrey Diwan at a special dinner in Cannes, amongst a host of star studded guests.

Last night, Charles Finch and A Rabbit’s Foot welcomed a magnificent gathering of guests from across the world of cinema, art and culture to celebrate the release of Issue 4: Love and Passion (which you can order here), for an intimate dinner at Fred L’ecailler.

The Annual Filmmakers Dinner—a continued, and much anticipated tradition—honoured actor Mads Mikkelsen for his wonderful body of work, and renowned charm. We also honoured Audrey Diwan, the brilliant French director who made the acclaimed Happening, for their contribution to the arts. Charles presented them with special A Rabbit’s Foot pins in commemoration. During a series of sets from the Gipsy Kings, Harrison Ford, one of the Kings of Hollywood, arrived to dinner, and happily ‘joshed‘ with Mads that, although he hasn’t been honoured with his Rabbit pin yet, he was the recipient of an honorary Cannes Palme D’or.

Other guests included the cinematic giant Wim Wenders, whose film Anselm is screening at the festival, as well as featured artists from the latest issue, like Gaspar Noé. Actresses Alicia Vikander, Naomi Harris, Filmmakers Isabel Sandoval and Whit Stillman, the legendary producer Jeremy Thomas, and tycoon and photographer Jean Pigozzi, were among other attendees, all of whom mixed over the restaurant’s famous seafood menu, courtesy of the tireless work, and charm, of Fred and his team.

The festivities spilled into the brightly-lit square late into the evening, and guests took home the newest, independently-published edition of A Rabbit’s Foot. The issue observes the relationship between romance, love and passion with cinema, art, and culture, and features profiles with Marion Cotillard, Ava DuVernay, Sir Roger Deakins and Ethan Coen.
