If you’ve been following this fashion month at all, you’ll know that a recurring theme has been interruptions: from protestors parading down the runway to high street behemoths such as M&S usurping the schedule. And you might say the same for A Rabbit’s Foot, as our film magazine selected Saturday night of London Fashion Week to launch our latest issue.

The scheduling however, did make sense. Themed Film Fashion, think of this edition as our take on a glossy, with cover stars Kendall Jenner and Willem Dafoe dressed to kill. The evening, which took place at Bar Finch in Mayfair—our Editor-in-Chief’s namesake address on Cork Street—started off next door at Messums Gallery, where the editorials of Jenner and Dafoe, and blown up versions of previous issues welcomed arrivals. 

Among those in attendance were photographer Juergen Teller, BAFTA-winning filmmaker Akinola Davies Jr., multi-Academy Award winning costume designer Sandy Powell,  Principal Royal Ballet dancer Marcelino Sambé, David Owen from IDEA books and Burberry model Callum Harper. We were also excited to welcome England Football Manager Thomas Tuchel (a self-professed cinephile, amongst his favourite films is Michael Mann’s Heat and his favourite actor is John Reno). Football issue incoming… 

Fuelling the party, which got into full throng at the bar, were Swimming Finches (a signature martini cocktail) made for the occasion with Grey Goose Altius. There was also a warm reception for the burgers, which are quickly gaining a reputation as the best in London. 

The full A Rabbit’s Foot team in attendance, it was also a chance to celebrate a new generation of talent and contributors and friends of the magazines, with a list of young filmmakers, photographers and creatives in attendance that included Fenn O’Meally and Dorothea Sing Zhang, photographer Frances O’Sullivan, Andrew Georgiades, Olivia Pezzente, artist Sienna Murdoch, record label owner Caius Pawson and Lil Silva as well as actors Raffey Cassidy and Viola Prettlejohn. 

“We started A Rabbit’s Foot in London, we print it in London, and we’re still proudly independent,” says Creative Director Fatima Khan. “I think there’s something quite radical about continuing to make a beautiful physical magazine now. Print is very much alive and so is the appetite for bringing people together around it.”

“What was so great about it is that we had people from every step of our journey all come together,” adds Deputy Editor Chris Cotonou. “But now they are not only collaborators, but friends.”
