A few weeks ago, Brady Corbet’s acclaimed American epic The Brutalist faced allegations of generative AI; a week later, bigoted tweets by Karla Sofia Gascòn, Best Actress frontrunner for Emilia Perez, resurfaced from 2019, in a heartbeat turning an Academy frontrunner into an award season villain.
