Mark Ruffalo, Bottega sequins & Nobu sushi: Saja Kilani’s Golden Globes diary

Saja Kilani was undeniably one of 2025’s breakout stars, coming to our attention with her devastating performance as a Red Cross worker in Kaouther Ben Hania’s The Voice of Hind Rajab, a docudrama about the tragic—but painfully true—fate of a young Palestinian girl. For such a deeply urgent film, it made sense that for her first-ever Golden Globes, the Palestinian-Jordanian-Canadian actor’s red carpet appearance was also the chance to make a political statement.

For the ceremony, which Saja attended with cast members, producers and director Kaouther Ben Hania herself, she wore a custom look by fashion designer Reema Dahbour, inspired by traditional Palestinian thobes and featuring beautiful necklace detailing based on ancient Palestinian techniques.

From run-ins with Mark Ruffalo to the Bottega Veneta look she wore for the pre-Globes BAFTA event the day before, Saja shares her Golden Globes diary.

“I just love seeing LAX.”

“This was the moment I realized where I was going—took this pic despite the jet lag.”

“I couldn’t wait to unbox this.”

“Bottega Veneta is one of my favourite brands and I was so excited to be dressed by them for the pre-Globes BAFTA event.”

“Taking in the view.”

“This skirt is a networking magnet.”

“If you know me, you know I like my mirror pics.”

“Exhibit B. I was shocked I even had time to take this but… Globes ready!”

Nadia [Tayeh]’s make-up artistry and Coleman [Morris]’s hairstyling truly complemented the dress.”

“Arriving at the Golden Globes.”

“The red carpet. I liked this view!”

“I’m not sure what made me smile here, but our team caught it.”

“We are all fans of Mark Ruffalo, so this was a highlight.”

“In case you were wondering what was served for dinner.”

“With the genius leader behind the film, Kaouther Ben Hania.”

Ali, an executive producer on the film, was very proud of this picture he took with the sign behind me.”
