Our Issue 13 pop-up was a celebration of physical media

Step inside the London launch of our latest issue at Foreign Exchange News in West London.

Last Saturday, on a bright afternoon in West London, A Rabbit’s Foot gathered at Foreign Exchange for the London launch of its 13th issue. The stylish coffee shop on Leinster Terrace—designed by Gabriel Chipperfield at Wendover Partners—set the scene as readers, collaborators and friends of the magazine met, mingled and experienced the new issue for the first time.

“We loved meeting both our long time and new readers, chatting about movies and finally sharing our Charli xcx cover with them—which might be our best issue yet,” says Chris Cotonou, longtime Deputy Editor, who interviewed Charli xcx for the issue, alongside, Joachim Trier and Damson Idris.

“This issue includes some of my favourite shoots we’ve ever made—from Charli xcx to Park Chan-wook—alongside some of the most meaningful conversations we’ve had as a magazine, including my own with Mira Nair about her journey through cinema,” says Fatima, Creative Director. “With Tomorrow as the theme, we wanted futurism to feel lived-in rather than stylised—rooted in ideas, craft and dialogue. Launching it in a local space like this lets people experience the work physically, together, the way it was intended.”

“So much of what we do happens behind closed doors, in conversations amongst our small team,” says digital editor Kitty Grady who interviewed Renate Reinsve, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleeas, Eva Victor and Charlie Polinger for the issue. “So it’s wonderful to see it in the flesh, it finally becomes real.”

This is the third time A Rabbit’s Foot has celebrated an issue at Foreign Exchange—which also houses a money exchange bureau at the back of the shop—whose commitment to design, beauty and a nod of absurdity aligns with the aesthetic mission of A Rabbit’s Foot, which is designed and printed in London.

Throughout the day, where guests enjoyed beverages by NOAM beers as the day went on, friend of A Rabbit’s Foot Andrew Georgiades asked attendees about their favourite “non-Christmas Christmas films”. The jury was truly out—Die Hard, The Lord of the Rings, Eyes Wide Shut. At least one thing they have in common this Christmas will be a copy of A Rabbit’s Foot.
